Michelle MacAleese has many years’ editorial experience and has worked for some of Canada's leading traditional and hybrid publishing houses, including Penguin Random House Canada, ECW Press, and LifeTree Media.

In touch with current market trends – particularly in the areas of literary fiction, creative non-fiction, memoir, practical non-fiction and self-help  – she specializes in guiding new writers towards successful publication, as well as supporting established authors through the editorial process. In addition to achieving bestseller status, the books she has worked on have won the Toronto Book Award, the Trillium Book Award, the Quebec Writers' Federation Concordia University First Book Prize, the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA) Benjamin Franklin Award, the Whistler Independent Book Award for non-fiction, the Leacock Medal for Humour, and the National Business Book Award.

Michelle has a BA in English Literature from Bishop’s University and studied publishing at Simon Fraser University and Ryerson University.
